Peckham's new rooftop co-working space: win 4 FREE desks
Market the new professional workspace opening this summer in Peckham has launched a local initiative Peckham Rise - an opportunity for a local entrepreneur, freelancer or small business to get out of their flat or away from the library, and into a professional workspace that is designed to support people who want to work in their local area.
Peckham Rise will be offering desks for up to four people for a full year, for FREE. They are set in a newly refurbished building of seven floors that will be home to a new co-working space, restaurants, meeting rooms, event spaces, a rooftop terrace with views right across central and south London and even a basement music venue.
Nick Mansour from Market said “As a small business ourselves, we want to support a business that would benefit from free space, a professional environment, and connections to other people who are going through a similar journey. “
Market have brought together a group of local business-focussed judges to help find a winner. They are:
Peter Babudu - Labour Councillor for the Rye Lane Ward
James Browning - Founder of Ballami Radio
Alex Fefegha - Co-Founder & Head of Making at Comuzi
Ibrahim Kamara - Founder of GUAP
Monique Tomlinson - Managing Director at Peckham Palms
Franky & Symara - Co-Founders of L’Appartement
The announcement comes ahead of the official launch of the building at 133 Rye Lane later this year. Mansour says “Over the past four years we have been listening to and engaging with local people and businesses about our plans. We have developed a long-term approach and as Market starts to emerge from behind the scaffolding, we’re really excited to see how the building can offer a variety of different things to a broad range of people.”
